Why Choose Fragrance-Free?
We care about your Health and it starts by eliminating bad ingredients.
FRAGRANCE IS UNECESSARY
Adding fragrance (parfum/aroma, essential oils) to skincare products is unnecessary and contributes many potential problems. With nearly 1/3 of the population having documented reactions to fragrance (including breathing and topical skin reactions, and headaches), why include an ingredient that has potential dangers just to make something more palpable?

CHEMICAL REACTIONS DIRECTLY ON OUR SKIN
Most fragrances are released through what is called a volatile reaction, which can trigger allergies, asthma, and numerous skin issues such as psoriasis, eczema, hives, acne, etc. Chemical reactions, or the effects of essential oils can cause skin reactions-particularly (but not ONLY) for those with sensitive skin. Some people are so sensitive that just inhaling fragrance can cause serious reactions.
HARD TO SPOT/KNOW EXACT COMPONENTS
Fragrance is a general term on the ingredient list, it can be made up of 50-100 chemicals, including but not limited to: acetone, ethanol, benzaldehyde, formaldehyde, limonene, methylene chloride, camphor, ethyl acetate, linalool and benzyl alcohol. Phthalates and synthetic musk are also commonly used potentially hazardous ingredients.
But it isn’t always easy to spot added fragrance in those vast ingredient lists, and manufacturers are becoming creative in burying the presence of fragrance. And, unfortunately for consumers, the US does not provide meaningful oversight of the cosmetics industry: Where the EU has 1,300 banned cosmetic ingredients, the US only has 11!
