Ahh, dermarollers. It's my area of expertise, my pride and joy, and a facet of the skincare industry I feel doesn't get enough recognition. Many people aren't fully educated on what dermarolling can really do for them or how they work.
When it comes to dermarolling, a lot of people know the baseline of what it can do for the skin. But let's take it a step further.
We love hacks, a unique way of approaching problems, and being pleasantly surprised by new information.
That's why I'm going to give you four dermaroller hacks you probably didn't know, because in today's world we want quick information, innovative solutions, and we love getting the inside scoop on skincare industry secrets.
Hack #1: Dermarollers Can Help Reduce Stretch Marks
Stretch marks are akin to deep wrinkles. They're unsightly, they affect your confidence, and they're hard, if not impossible to get rid of.
While some women (and men) are proud of their stripes, there are those that would give anything to make them go away. Unfortunately, there's not many effective treatments against stretch marks and severe hyperpigmentation. However, dermarollers might just be the solution you've been looking for.
Microneedling has been clinically shown to reduce or soften the appearance of stretch marks. Dermarollers gently open collagen fibers at the surface as they glide over the skin by breaking up the tough, stringy fibers that make up scar tissue.

Hack #2: Dermarollers Make Serums Twice as Effective
The benefit that you receive from serums can be amplified by pairing them with a dermaroller routine. How, you ask?
Dermarollers inflict microscopic puncture wounds in the skin, which opens up the skin more and allows serums and all their glorious ingredients to penetrate the skin quicker, more deeply, and more efficiently.
Consider dermarolling a key way for your serums to get to their destination much faster, which results in greater results.
Be sure to check that your products aren't full of harmful or toxic ingredients that might make this practice counterintuitive.
Hack #3: Dermarollers Can Make Your Hands Look Younger
Who says dermarollers only need to be used on the face? Dermarollers are multi-purpose, which is something a lot of consumers don't know.
For those with leathery or worn looking hands, the same rules apply here. Dermarollers are going to trigger the skin's healing response, prompting cellular turnover, collagen boosts, and firmer, younger-looking skin.
Key tip? Make sure you're moisturizing your hands so they don't become dry and cracked, a condition that ages hands faster.
Hack #4: Get Bigger Lips Without Lip Fillers
Yes, you read that right. Now while some may be rather hesitant to try this out, the evidence is there: dermarolling your lips can make them fuller and provide more volume.
Lips are a sensitive area, so this is where you would use the smallest needle size. You'll want to dermaroll up, down, diagonally in both directions and horizontally, but don't overdo it or press too hard. You don't want to cause bleeding or serious irritation. Your lips should slightly tingle and redness is normal.
This is a great alternative to some of the fillers that are out there today, which can be incredibly pricey. Save yourself hundreds of dollars for a trip to the dermatologist and try dermarolling for fuller lips instead.
Many consumers don't realize the serious versatility of a dermaroller and how multi-purpose it truly is. Dermarollers can be used not only on the face, but on the body, on the hands, on the lips, and even on the scalp for hair regrowth.
Do your research, make sure you're using the correct needle size, and remember, consistency is key.
