If you’ve ever looked in the mirror and gently lifted your brows thinking, “If only it would just stay like this,” you’re not alone. I’ve seen clients go from droopy, tired-looking eyes to lifted brows, smoother crow’s feet, and a fresher, more awake look — and I’ve done it on myself, too. The secret? Not a magic cream.
Microneedling around the eye and brow area, done safely and consistently at home.
Why Microneedling Works So Well Around the Eyes
The skin around your eyes is the thinnest on your face. That’s why you see:

Hooded or sagging lids

Crow’s feet when you smile
-
Fine lines under the eyes
-
Dark circles and crepiness
Microneedling with a real individual-needle dermaroller (not a cheap spiky wheel) creates controlled micro-channels in the skin. This can help:

Stimulate collagen and elastin

Improve skin firmness and thickness

Smooth the look of fine lines

Enhance product absorption
Over time, this can make the eye area look tighter, smoother, and more lifted — like you’ve slept better and taken 5 years of stress off your face.
But again: the eye area is delicate. Technique, needle size, and aftercare matter a lot.
How To Use A Dermaroller - Eye Area
If you’re a beginner, start with less frequency, shorter sessions, and always with a smaller needle length around the eyes (typically up to 0.25 mm for most at-home users; I don’t recommend going above 0.25–0.5 mm in this delicate area).
What you need is the following:

A Timer
Simple but powerful. A timer keeps you from overworking the area. When you “feel good,” it’s very easy to keep rolling for too long — especially if you’re chasing a lifting effect. I set mine for 1 minute per eye, and then optionally 1 extra minute for my 11 lines and brow area if I’m going very advanced.

For Aftercare, I recommend the following:
Step 1: Prep and Disinfect
Before I even touch my face, I:
-
Wash my hands thoroughly (twice)
-
Disinfect my dermaroller with liquid oxygen
-
Make sure I have a clean towel that I only use for my face — nothing else
Then I:
-
Apply liquid oxygen foam to the eye area: over and under the eyes, brows, crow’s feet, and 11 lines between the brows
-
Disinfect my hands one more time with liquid oxygen
This step isn’t “extra” — it’s essential. Microneedling creates micro-channels, and we want them clean, not full of bacteria.
Step 2: Dermarolling Technique
I set my timer for 1 minute.
Using my Gin Amber Beauty dermaroller, I:

Start at the brow area
-
Always lift the roller from the skin when changing direction
-
Roll in straight lines, not circles
I like to create a sort of triangle around the brow and hooded lid area, making about five “lines” or passes in each direction. I focus where I personally struggle: saggy eyelids.
You may feel tingling — that’s normal. You should not be bleeding around the eyes. If you’re bleeding, stop. That means:
-
You’re using too much pressure
-
Your needle length is too long
-
Or you’re overworking the area
Same thing on the other side:
-
Reset the timer for 1 minute
-
Work around the brow and lid
-
Focus on your personal problem area
If your main issue is crow’s feet, spend more time right at the outer corners of the eyes.
You can roll slightly upward or slightly downward in that tiny crow’s feet area — because it’s such a small zone, the exact direction is less critical than being gentle, precise, and consistent. For me, sometimes it’s easier to roll downward over the bony area near the eye. That’s okay as long as you’re not dragging or scraping, and you’re always lifting the roller between passes.
Step 3: Optional: Extra rolls on the 11 Lines and Brow
This is where it becomes extremely advanced.
If my skin is doing well and I want to target my 11 lines (those vertical lines between the brows) and lift the area a bit more, I’ll:

Set the timer for one more minute
-
Roll over the 11 lines in straight, controlled motions
-
Sometimes, include a little work on the top of the nose where expression lines form
Again: no circular rolling, no rushing, and no harsh scraping.
If you’re newer or your skin is sensitive, you can skip this extra minute entirely and still get great results from just the first two minutes.
Step 4: Disinfect the Dermaroller Again
Once I’m done:
-
I immediately disinfect the dermaroller with liquid oxygen again
Your tools should be treated like medical instruments — because in a way, they are. Proper disinfection reduces your risk of irritation, infection, and long-term skin issues.
Step 5: What to Apply After?
Now the skin is open and receptive, but also vulnerable. This is not the moment for harsh actives, acids, scrubs, or strong retinoids.
Instead, I apply:

A gentle, firming peptide serum around the eye zone

I apply it gently, tapping it in rather than dragging the skin. It feels cooling and soothing, with a little bit of tingling — that’s normal right after microneedling.

Aftercare: What to Do (and What to Avoid)
After microneedling, your skin is in “healing and rebuilding” mode. What you don’t do is just as important as what you do.
For the next 1–2 days:

No sauna or steam rooms

No intense workouts that cause heavy sweating

No direct sun exposure if you can help it
For the next 2–3 days:

No exfoliating acids
-
No scrubs
-
No harsh active treatments
Every day after:

Always wear sunscreen when you go outside. This should be non-negotiable, especially when you’re stimulating the skin.
If you notice a bit of dryness or light flaking the next day, that can be normal — your skin is renewing. Just keep things gentle, hydrating, and protected.
How Often Should You Do This?
For most people, once a week is more than enough for this advanced under-eye and brow routine.
Microneedling is not like a moisturiser you use every day. It’s a treatment. Your collagen needs time to respond, and your skin needs time to recover.
With consistent weekly treatments over 10–20 sessions, many people see:

Lifted brows

Less hooding on the eyelids

Softer crow’s feet

Smoother 11 lines

The key is consistency, not intensity.
